Fun day with Mommy & Daddy

Since both of us were off today and it was such a beautiful day, we decided to go to Lighthouse Mall and then take Allison to the beach for the first time! We did some shopping ~ all for Allison of course ! We got her some adorable outfits for this fall/ winter and also some cute things for next spring/ summer !! While we were shopping, Allie did not want to go to sleep at all.. which is surprising because of her crazy night last night -for a minute there, I thought she was 3 weeks old again ! Up every 2 - 3 hours, it was crazy .... thank goodness I didn't have to work today, I would have been a zombie!!

Anyway, after we did some shopping and perusing at Lighthouse Mall and enjoyed the gorgeous weather, we grabbed some lunch, and gave Allie hers too, and then we headed to Washington Beach in Michigan City. If you have never been to this beach, I recommend it ! It is so nice and clean and not as busy as the Dunes and has a lighthouse with a museum and the Washington Zoo is right across the street :) Anyway, we didn't plan on staying long because we did not want Allison to get burnt and I forgot to bring her hat, so we used a burp cloth over her head !! We probably only stayed about 1/2 hour, but we had fun anyway. Daddy had on the baby carrier and Allie looked around at everything, she watched the seagulls and the waves come in - she must have thought it was bedtime because she has a "Sleep Sheep" hanging on her crib that plays ocean wave sounds that we play every night when she goes to bed ! We let her "stand" on the sand and let the waves wash over her feet - she was a little frightened at first, but she liked it after that ! We told her that we couldn't wait to take her next year to the beach to make sand castles and play in the water - As I thought about it, she will be over a year old next summer - YIKES !! Time is just flying by too quickly !!

Tonight, we went out with Jody's family to dinner for his Grandmas's 88th birthday and Allison was PERFECT at dinner !! We were there for 2 1/2 hours and she barely fussed ! She ate her bedtime bottle and after a tiny bit of fussing, fell asleep :) I was so happy - Thanks Allie !!

Oh yeah, and her new thing she has been doing in her carseat is trying to bend up into a " U" and tries to fold herself up to grab her feet - it cracks us up !! It is almost like she is trying to escape !

Well, as time is passing on, my lack of sleep last night is catching up with me and and the sandman is calling......Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
